Lad Bargold, affectionately known as Carter was imported from the United States in August of 2005 after having an impressive show career while based in his native state of Pennsylvania. Primarily shown in the Palomino Horse Breeders of America because of his golden color, Carter has over 130 points including PHBA Registers of Merit in Halter, Western Pleasure, Trail, Hunter Under Saddle and Road Hack.
A great show horse due to his versatility and presence both in hand and under saddle, Carter is best known for his charm and personality. He has already amassed quite a fan club in the UK with his sweet nature and kindness. Tolerant and affectionate, he is always happy to greet his young admirers. Exemplifying the ideals of the American Quarter Horse, Carter is intelligent, even tempered, and easily trainable, making him a pleasure to handle and a joy to be around.
With his impeccable pedigree featuring some of the greatest bloodlines in Halter, Performance and cow bred horses, it`s also no wonder that he has proven himself to be an exceptional sire. Having exclusively bred a limited number of private mares, his offspring have already made a name for themselves in the PHBA with enviable show records.
Following in his father`s footsteps, 5 year old One Clu Ima Carter has taken his Amateur owner to numerous wins, and has collected points both in hand and under saddle showing in Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Road Hack and Trail. `Max` is also shown by his owner`s daughter, helping her place in many events in youth 5-9, and youth classes for 18 and under, including a first place win in Youth Novice Western Pleasure 18 and under in August.
Younger brother Cadilacin Carter is an Appendix Quarter Horse, being out of a Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred mare, and at the tender age of 3 has helped his Novice owner dominate Novice Hunter Under Saddle, achieving the PHBA Honor Roll in that event for qualifying as one of the top 10 in the Nation.
Yearling filly Carters Carmella has also done her father proud; Carmella stood Reserve Champion Amateur Mare at her first show in May of 2005.
All of Carter`s foals have inherited their father`s correctness, athleticism and personality, with the added bonus of a very high percentage of color. Out of sorrel mares, all but one have been Palomino, and he will also be likely to sire a high percentage of buckskins out of bay mares. He is an ideal cross for both stock type and hunter type mares, producing high quality foals for breeding or show with unbeatable temperaments. Carter will be emerging from his early retirement to show AQHA throughout the UK and Europe, but will be standing to limited outside mares.
