McJonnas was imported from Germany originally born in Czechoslovakia. His sire Mineral is a Palomino Eventing / Showjumping stallion in the Czech republic his dam is a combination of Trakehner thoroughbred and Kinsky bloodlines

McJonnas is a young stallion now working well under saddle showing good ability over fences with a very good walk and canter rythmical and balanced. His work ethic is excellent and is willing to please.

McJonnas has already proven to be a popular choice with both single mare owners and experienced breeders with a good number of bookings in his first year and second year at stud. In 2008 he has once again delighted breeders encouraging repeated coverings in 2008.

Conformation: McJonnas has been very late to mature but has since grown into his strong frame now at the age of five. A compact short coupled stallion, with a strong short croup providing strength in his canter and jump.

He has a very pleasing front, well set arched neck of good length and good wither development with a strong top line. He carries a beautiful well defined head on a well set neck and well developed chest. His shoulder could be more sloping hence the shortness to his trot. He has a correct refined front limb with good length to his pastern, well balanced length of cannon, a powerful loin and croup and good angle to his hind leg with good thigh development.

His double dilute genes garantee that he will always pass on one of his dilute genes to his offspring and thus produce palomino foals from chestnut mares or buckskin/smokey blacks/palomino`s from black/bay mares.

The dilute gene is also particularly appealing to owners of coloured mares hoping for the much sought after bucksin tobiano colouring or lemon/white tobiano (palomino) when bred to chestnut tobiano`s. These coloured combinations are garanteed when bred to homozygous tobiano mares.

McJonnas has been parentage tested with the National Animal health trust.

Performance record

Successfully passed his grading performance test x-ray and vetting march 1st 2008.

Ulrich Hahne from the Hanoverian verbands comments: an exceptionally good walk when allowed to move freely, a very pleasing stallion, good confomation. Successful on this occassion based on his dressage qualities.

Consitantly placed in dressage in top three places, 1st 2nd and 3rd 68% on first dressage outing placed third out of 22 entries. Scoring 8s for canter comments well balanced horse.

Qualified for the Scottish Regional finals 2008 at second attempt.

Now affiliated BD commencing on 29th March 08.

Progeny Information

McJonnas`s foals have to date inherited his very striking profile, exceptional canter and are all showing remarkable musle development at birth. Following the arrival of his first foals in 2007 breeders have been very pleased with the results with repeat bookings in 2007 and 2008.
His success continues in 2008 with his second crop of stunningly proflied foals, again showing exceptional canter.
